Whew. Who else has been kicked in the butt by this week? If the first day of Fall is already stressing you out, here's something to think about...
Let's be real, trick-or-treating probably isn't going to happen this year... but want to know what is? Halloween fun at Universal Orlando! Though Halloween Horror Nights *technically* isn't happening this year, the park is still bringing activities and even haunted houses (!) our way.
Universal's special offerings are included in your admission, and when you stay on property at one of their awesome resorts, you can take advantage of some benefits -- like early park admission!
Personally, my family and I visited at the beginning of COVID and had a great experience. There are selfie photos with different Universal-oriented characters (like Shrek, Scooby Doo, & Optimus Prime) so you can still get some cute pics! The park's virtual line reservation system was seamless and easy to navigate on your smart phone, and their staff is continuously cleaning and sanitizing everything, especially high-touch areas.
SCREAM your way through two haunted houses at Universal Orlando!
Included with your admission is two brand-new haunted houses - Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives & Revenge of the Tooth Fairy. Keep in mind these aren't for the little ones, as they are noted to be "too intense for young children." To put it in perspective, Revenge of the Tooth Fairy described as an "original story that uncovers a dark ritual behind the innocent childhood tradition." Not for the scare-prone!
Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives: "'We belong dead.” The last words of Frankenstein’s monster on that fateful night when his Bride rejected him. But his end was her beginning. Now the Bride is stepping out of the shadows to bring him back. And there’s nothing she won’t do as she sharpens her brilliance by experimenting on unsuspecting victims. The mate will have her monster. And the monster his mate."
Revenge of the Tooth Fairy: "The innocent traditions of the tooth fairy hide a darker ritual. All children must give up their baby teeth to the goblinesque tooth fairies or pay a gruesome price. Step into an old manor that has been overrun by yellow-clawed fiends who extract teeth by force. It’s an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth."
Trick-or-treat at Islands of Adventure!
For those that ARE 12 and under, you can go trick-or-treat over at Islands of Adventure! Don your best costume to the parks during these dates. Let's see your family's best costumes :)
The fun even makes its way to City Walk!
In the mood for a horror film? Cinemark, located right in the fun of the entertainment area, will play some of your favorite scary flicks throughout the fall months.
You can also walk through City Walk's Halloween Horror Night's Tribute Store, which consists of four amazingly themed rooms and equally as amazing limited-edition merchandise! The theming inside pays homage to years past and has tons of cool merch including t-shirts and posters, collectible glasses, and limited-edition items.
Volcano Bay is still open too!
Though Volcano Bay won't be hosting anything directly related to Halloween, you can still take advantage of the abnormally hot Fall that Florida typically experiences with a day at the water park! Times and days open have been reduced, so make sure you keep an eye out and plan accordingly.

Fall is definitely upon us here in New Orleans. The slight drop in temperatures and humidity have been a welcomed change from what we have been experiencing. Football season has begun, kids are beginning to feel a cohesive flow of their day-to-day ... I couldn't be more excited to welcome more of a routine into our lives. And with that, I hope that we have seen the last of the pesky hurricanes and tropical disturbances for a while!
With the seasons shifting, I can't help but get excited for a fresh, new start. The fall represents an introduction to the festive seasons ahead with time spent gathering with family and appreciating the time we have with each other in a more meaningful way than being forced to quarantine. During those times, I am sure some fun plans into your futures will begin. I hope we are able to play a part in those plans, by being of service to you while dreaming up a future vacation destination.
Enjoy these next few weeks leading into Halloween!
