Last week, Universal Orlando announced all of the houses for Halloween Horror Nights 2022!
Spirits of the Coven
Travel back to the 20's and be lured by a a coven of beautiful flapper witches into their 1920s speakeasy, but be prepared as they reveal their haggish true form and turn your scream squad into a witch’s brew. They’ll be cackling; you’ll be screaming.
Bugs: Eaten Alive
While touring a 1950s home of the future, you’ll be surrounded by the slime of bugs everywhere as hordes of many-legged terrors descend upon you and your scream squad. You’ll be dropping like flies.
Fiesta de Chupacabras
Visit a Latin American village where the legend of the creature Chupacabras is celebrated with a colorful fiesta. And the streets are lined with the crimson blood of tourists like you and your amigos.
Hellblock Horror
Enter a prison whose savage inmates are monstrous creatures. If they break free from their cells, it’s a death sentence for everyone.
Dead Man's Pier: Winter's Wake
In a New England fishing village, undead fishermen emerge from the waves to seek their revenge. You and your scream squad may have escaped their hooks in the scare zone. Now they’ll reel you in and drag you under.
Descendants of Destruction
Careful not to leave any of your scream squad behind as you descend the subway tunnels of a deserted New York. Lurking in the dark are hungry mutants looking to feast on the last remnants of humanity.
The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare
Enter the mind of The Weeknd as his new album, After Hours, comes to life with visuals from accompanying music videos reimagined into a haunted house. You never know what you may see from the mind of The Weeknd... A slasher carving a smile at an otherworldly rave. Bandaged maniacs performing extreme plastic surgery. A grotesque mannequin masquerade. His nightmare is now yours.
The Horrors of Blumhouse
Step inside a new double feature of Blumhouse horror inspired by the new supernatural thriller, "The Black Phone," and horror-comedy, "Freaky." In this haunted house, you'll outrun TWO serial killers: The Grabber, a demented magician, and The Butcher, who has switched bodies with a teenage girl. Escape from the dark basement of The Grabber before you become his latest victim!
Halloween
Where it all began... Based on John Carpenter's 1978 slasher classic, visit Haddonfield, Illinois, where Michael Myers is about to don his mask and embark on his first brutal spree.
Universal Monsters: Legends Collide
If you thought one Universal Monster was scary, how about three? Better summon your scream squad, ‘cause you’re about to get caught in the middle of an epic battle between The Wolf Man, Dracula and The Mummy, together for the first time ever. Their mission: To find the amulet that will break their curse. And they’ll destroy anyone who gets in their way.
TIPS
Start with the haunted houses in the back: Haunted houses in the front get crowded first!
Watch the movies: Before heading to the park, watch the flicks and television shows that inspired the haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights
Look for the details: Each house is meticulously designed with plenty of Easter eggs and references to the movie/show that the house is themed around... for example: the haunted attic at the Beetlejuice House, the Red Room at the Haunting of Hill House, and Leatherface, of course!
WARNING: Event may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for children under the age of 13. No costumes or costume masks allowed.
Beware when you enter the Scare Zones! The streets at Universal transform "into demented scare zones that are swimming with creatures and monsters that are birthed from the darkness like hellish demons [...] and the undead." Ask for a photo if you're feeling lucky; sometimes, the scareactor may stop and strike a pose... killer photo ops beware!
This year includes 5 different zones, including...
Horrors of Halloween - the Pumpkin Lord makes his welcomed return. Navigate the vines and pay your respects to "His Gourdliness."
Sweet Revenge - Major Sweets will have you in a sugar coma with this Halloween carnival gone wrong. Major Sweets Candy Co. is at the root of this dark turn of events, supplying the local children with candy that has sparked a transformation into cold-blooded killers.
Graveyard: Deadly Unrest - Explore the darker side of Tinseltown through this gothic-styled cemetery with large mausoleums and daunting archways.
Conjure the Dark - A stage for sacrifices is the focus of this scare zone as you explore runes, enchantments, and rockwork.
Every year are two different shows for you to sit back and take a break from the terror. This year's live entertainment includes the Ghoulish! A Halloween Tale and Halloween Nightmare Fuel Wildfire. Ghoulish! A Halloween Tale brings spirits to life with water and projections. Halloween Nightmare Fuel Wildlife is an old favorite returning this year for HHN 30 and features creatures, aerialists, and fire performers.
TIP: Download the Universal Orlando Resort mobile app for show times!
Every year, Halloween Horror Nights cooks up a "killer" menu with more than 75 items inspired by the spooky season. The menu is created by award-winning executive chefs and culinary team with a combination between something delicious yet Halloween-inspired!
"Highlights include the “Save Your Tears” signature cocktail inspired by “The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare,” the “Maggot Covered Cheese Dog” inspired by the “Bugs: Eaten Alive” original haunted house and Halloween Horror Nights staples like Pizza Fries, Twisted Taters and more."
"The Food & Beverage team starts planning the HHN menu one year in advance. They look at what the event theme and haunted houses will be and see what cuisines and trends they can pair with the different themes and characters, while keeping quality top of mind and also looking at what fans are saying." - Universal Orlando team
Some offerings (both new and old favorites):
Twisted Taters: traditional and specialty flavors including ghost pepper and blood 'n' guts with chili and roasted red pepper queso
