Characters Meet & Greet Returns to Walt Disney World this Fall!

This announcement is one that is going to make a LOT of y'all happy. For many people including my son, meeting Disney characters is a highlight of your trip. Though the character cavalcades have been a great filler, it's nothing like the real thing! Luckily, Disney has confirmed that during the 50th Anniversary Celebration, guests will be able to meet Mickey & friends once more in their super adorable 50th EARidescent costumes.

Starting this November at Disney's Magic Kingdom & Hollywood Studios, you can meet some of your favorite Disney characters once more! Though we won't be able to get as "up close and personal" as we used to be before COVID, it will be closer than the long distance waves and air kisses character experiences we have had throughout the past 6 months.

"Although the environment is not right just yet for hugs and autographs, you’ll soon be able to have individualized time with some of your favorite characters, getting to visit with them in a themed location and snap a photo or two." - Disney Parks Blog

CHARACTER MEET & GREETS AVAILABLE IN NOVEMBER (EXACT DATE TBA):

Magic Kingdom Park

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

There's even some classic park entertainment returning! In line with the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration, early birds at Magic Kingdom can start their day with "Let the Magic Begin" on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage. Check out a sneak peek for what this looks like below!

In EPCOT, World Showcase travelers can dance to the Canadian rhythms of Alberta Bound, laugh at the antics of Sergio in Italy, and experience the majestic percussion of the Taiko drummers of Matsuriza in Japan! The Taiko Drummers returning is such a sight for sore eyes!

And don't forget about the Animal Kingdom Theme Park! Though character meet and greets aren't on the agenda to return just yet, you can still experience some awesome entertainment in Asia and Africa. Guests visiting Asia can enjoy the music of Chakranadi, and Kora Tinga Tinga returns to the streets of Harambe in Africa. Tam Tam Drummers will also return to Africa in early November!

And on top of all of this, it's Disney's 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION! If you want to see some of my coverage while at the parks, check out the Cupcake Castles Travel Company Facebook or Instagram.

For those that haven't booked in a while, don't forget: all you need to book your Disney vacation is a $200 deposit! Payment is due in full 30 days prior to your arrival. For those concerned about traveling as we are still experiencing the effects of COVID-19, cancellations made 30 days or more prior to your arrival will be refunded.
